Description

The 1833 Classic Head Half Cent is a cent produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Classic Head Half Cents 1809-1836 series. The U.S. Mint produced 120,000 examples. The obverse features Liberty facing left wearing a fillet or headband inscribed LIBERTY, while the reverse displays a wreath enclosing HALF CENT. Designed by John Reich. Struck in copper, weighing 5.44 grams, 23.5 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #1162. The Classic Head Half Cent was produced intermittently from 1809 to 1836.
