Description
The 1814 Classic Head Cent - Crosslet 4 is a cent produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Classic Head Cents 1808-1814 series. With a mintage of 357,830, this is a scarce issue — the lowest mintage among 3 mint variants, representing only 32% of total production. The obverse features Liberty facing left wearing a fillet or headband inscribed LIBERTY and the reverse displays a wreath enclosing ONE CENT. Final year of the Classic Head Cent. The Crosslet 4 and Plain 4 varieties are distinguished. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792.
