The 100/000 fraction is one of the most recognized anomalies in the Draped Bust cent series, resulting from a blundered fraction punch during die preparation. This same die is cross-referenced in the large cent community as LCC-1803-4Rb, linking the cud to a specific die already cataloged in the Large Cent die variety census. A rim cud forms when a section of the die at the rim separates completely, creating a void that fills with metal during striking.
