Description

This Civil War patriotic token is cataloged as Fuld NC-33a in copper. This unattributed patriotic type is the third in a sequence of NC-series tokens that share the characteristic of bearing patriotic designs without merchant identification. Civil War patriotic tokens were produced in enormous quantities by die-sinkers who sold them in bulk to merchants and speculators, and some types were distributed so widely that their specific origin has been lost to history.
