Description
This 1972 bronze medal at 1 5/16 inches depicts the Treasury Building in Washington, D.C. The Treasury Building, located adjacent to the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue, is one of the oldest departmental buildings in Washington, with construction beginning in 1836 under architect Robert Mills. Its distinctive colonnade of Ionic columns along the east facade has made it one of the most recognizable federal buildings and it appears on the reverse of the ten-dollar bill.
