Description
=1921-S VAM-1S Die File Lines Around Date= Discovered December 2005. Revised January 2024 to add die marker 1S IV 1 D2a (Die File Lines Around Date) (189) Obverse IV 1 - Slight doubling on some left stars and E PLUR towards rim. Later die stages show heavy die file lines around date and first three left and right stars in attempt to remove die crack. ''Die Marker'' - Small dot between bases of two rightmost wheat leaves, just above edge of cotton leaf. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: 1S, 1DP1, 1DP2 Comments: # Images by Leroy of gouge in wreath that were labeled VAM 1S are actually VAM 1T. The two die pairs are unrelated. # Reverse die later used with VAM 1DP1
