Description

=1921-P VAM-3DC1 Scribbling Die Scratches #64= Discovered by C. Logan McKechnie October 2007. 3DC1 IV 1 • D2a (Scribbling Die Scratches #64) (189) Reverse D2a – Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle’s right leg, between eagle's left wing and body and in middle of both wings. ''Die marker'' - Diagonal die gouge thru right tail feather above arrow shaft. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # The coin in the first photo below is a late die state (LDS) example of this variety. While the major scribbles features have been worn away from die wear, the heave gouge/polishing line shown by the green arrows is very recognizable and should be used as the primary pick up point for this VAM regardless of die stage.
