=1921-P VAM-3A1 Spiked Tail Feather, Die Gouges State 1= 3A1(revised) IV 1 · D2a (Spiked Tail Feather, Die Gouges State 1, Scribbling Die Scratches- Delisted 2018) (189) Reverse D2a– First die gouge state with horizontal die gouge extending to right from number 3 tail feather. Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle’s right leg and between eagle's left wing and body. ''Die marker'' - Horizontal die gouge at right of tail feathers. Comments: 1. A pre-spike variety with the star gouge but no spiked tail feather exists. 2. Became VAM 3A1b in 2018.
