=1921-P VAM-24 Tripled E PLURIBUS, Scribbling Die Scratches #168= Discovered by Calvin Cherry, October 2001. Revised 2019. 24 IV 18 · D2a (Tripled E PLURIBUS, Scribbling Die Scratches #168) (189) Obverse IV 18– 4-7 left stars, hair above forehead and E PLURIBUS bottom inside of letters slightly tripled towards rim. Pitting around 4th right star on some die stages. Reverse D2a - Die 1 Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle's left wing and body and in middle of eagle's left wing. Occurs with VAM-24A. ''Die marker -'' Vertical polishing lines below arrow heads. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # 3-14-10: Late die state of VAM-24 found to have rust pitted star before 1921-P VAM-24A breaks have formed. The rust pitting on the star occurred before the pitting in the "G" of "God", and examples can be found showing the former pitting but not the latter. Reverses are the same throughout, per consistent scribbles. # Die 2 renumbered VAM 131, May 2024.
