=1889-P VAM-57 Doubled Ear, Far Date, High 9= Discovery 2011 57 III2 52 - C3a (Doubled Ear, Far Date, High 9 ) (190) Obverse 2 52 - Ear slightly doubled at left and right inside. Date set further right than normal with slightly high 9. ''Diagnostic'' - Two short die scratches in hair right of jaw-neck junction. DPIS - B34C/C5 ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Plate photo one of the ear and the 2nd one the diagnostic of ''two short die scratches in hair right of jaw-neck junction.'' The short die scratches are above the two red dots shown on the 1st set of Large Full Coin Photos (LFCP). In this series there are quite a few high 9's. The tip off for spotting this VAM is the date and lower hair all the way to the ear is quite void of polishing, almost pristine surfaces. Unusually clean for this series so a quick glance where the PUP's live placed it as a VAM-57. (RonH)
