Obverse III2 39 - Heavy die polishing lines in hair, ear, neck, lips, nose, eye and at hair line. (Formerly VAM-9A) Comments: # Previously listed as 1889-P VAM-9A. # The LDS Obverse has been repolished to remove the clashing from the neck, lips and back of the cap. The reverse clash marks remain on the LDS. # We'd like to review this listing with an early die state example. If you think you have one, please contact JB or JR # VAM 53 has similar heavy polishing on the obverse, but different date position # This is apparently the exact same thing as the 1889-P VAM-43.
