1884-O VAM-57

Description

Discovery November 2025, Brent Fogelberg 57 III2 24 • C3aa (Far Date, Doubled Arrow Shafts, O Slightly High) (?) Obverse III2 24 - Date set right of normal position. Light doubling on top of Liberty's cap. ''Die Marker'' - Polishing lines in cap fold with 2 chips centered in round area of fold. Reverse C3aa - O mint mark filled nearly flush, centered, and slightly high. Bottom edge of arrow shaft, lower arrow feather, and middle arrow head slightly doubled. ''Die Marker'' - Lines in wing-neck gap. DPIS - B34/C5 Comments: # The doubling of the arrow shafts gets obliterated as the die wore. At least 1 LDS example has a die chip on the (viewer's) left lower wreath. (see photo below) # 1884-O VAM-49 & 1884-O VAM-57 are the same die pair.
