=1881-S VAM-57 Doubled Motto, S Tilted Left= Discovered by ANACS, April 2002. 57 III2 32 · C3p (Doubled Motto, S Tilted Left) ( ? ) Obverse III2 32 – Tops of URIBUS UNUM, 4 to 6 right stars and 1 to 4 left stars slightly doubled towards rim. Fine die polishing lines below 18. First 8 has tiny die chip inside upper loop at 11 o’clock. Reverse C3p – Long diagonal polishing line below eagle’s left wing to leg on this die. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # In its later stage, the gouge under the wing gets polished away and the chips under the 18 turn to mush. # Same as the former 1881-S VAM-42A & 1881-S VAM-81 (also now delisted). # There are more than one 1881-S VAMs with messed up denticles below the date. I.E. 1881-S VAM-1A1, 1881-S VAM-23, 1881-S VAM-65 & 1881-S VAM-74.
