=1880-S VAM-117 Doubled 188, Pitted Die Obverse Face, S/S = Discovery 2021 by Brian Haight. III2 70 - C3ad (Doubled 188, Pitted Die Obverse Face, S/S) (183) Obverse III2 70 - Doubled 188 with 1 slightly below upper crossbar bottom and right side of vertical shaft, left 8 at right outside of lower loop and slightly at left inside and right 8 at left outside of upper loop. Phrygian cap slightly doubled at top edge. Long diagonal die scratch across neck top. Fine die pitting from forehead down to ear front jaw rear and on neck. Likely die retired early and reverse die used with VAM 103 Obverse die. Reverse C3ad - Same die as used for 1880-S VAM-103 with large VI S mint mark doubled at top inside of both loops.
