Description
Discovery April 2023, Michael Dustin 88 III2 41 • C3a (8/7 Checkmark, Doubled Obverse Top, Tripled Date) (?) Obverse III2 41 - Fairly strong doubling on tops of E PLURIB and right side of LIBERTY. Top edge of cotton leaves slightly doubled as is hair below LIBERTY. All right stars tripled to quadrupled and all left stars very slightly tripled towards rim. Tripled date with 18 slightly tripled at bottom, second 8 very slightly doubled at left outside of upper loop and 0 doubled at lower outside and lower left inside. Heavy polishing lines inside ear and in lower hair. Earlier use of the obverse shared with VAM 41. Reverse C3a - Normal die. ''Die markers'' - Pair of diagonal lines thru upper tail feathers just inside eagle’s left leg, long vertical line in left wing just above its center, and short line directly under the back corner of the center arrow head.
