1879-S VAM-51 PAF, Tripled Stars, Doubled 9 & Motto, Engraved Wing Feather Discovered by Calvin Cherry, February 2001. This is a Reverse of '78 (PAF) coin and a Top 100* VAM variety. The top of the Phrygian cap is also doubled. All stars are doubled or tripled toward the rim. There are numerous die gouges in the left wing. There is an engraved feather between the eagle's right leg and wing and there is a die gouge in the Eagle's right wing. One of the best pick up points is the die crack above the mint mark that extends into the wreath.
