Revised/Reassigned as 1879-S VAM-107A Sept 2018 Chris Simpson '''107A III2 56 - C3aq (Doubled Date, Hair Ribbon Gouge, Engraved Wreath , Polished Obverse) (185) ''' '''Obverse III2 1''' - Fine vertical polishing lines in lower fields and later all fields with over polished lower hair apparently in attempt to minimize large die gouge in lower hair and die crack right of 9. '''Comments:''' # The 1879-S VAM-107A (formerly 1879-S VAM-1B2) comes in "EDS 1879-S 107A" & "LDS 1879-S 107A" where the "EDS" still has a heavily polished obverse but less polishing lines overall. The key to identifying the better of the two (the "LDS") at a glance is that the "EDS" has almost no polishing lines above the cap while the "LDS" has thick southeast to northwest diagonal polishing lines above the cap -CascadeChris ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: 107, 107A, 170
