=1878-P VAM-195 Broken D= Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, December 1965. 195 II2 - B2e (Broken D) (179) Obverse II2 - Diagonal line through "B" LIBERTY. Reverse B2e - Bottom of "D" in DOLLAR completely broken. DPIS – In 1878 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # The VAM-195 has a diagonal line through "B" and bottom of "I" in LIBERTY. Slightly doubled bottom of PL and left side of R (Same obverse used w/ 1878-P VAM-131C). # 4th Obverse right star is broken. # R in Trust not broken. Most have die polish lines from the arrow heads; EDS coins do not have this feature.
