Revised 2009. 130C1(revised) II1 - B2a (Weak Nostril) (178) I-2 R-4 Obverse II1 - Die 1 - Die over polished with slightly weak nostril and gaps in lower hair. ''Die Markers --'' Vertical polishing line above back of cap ribbon and vertical polishing line through vertical base of Y in LIBERTY. Reverse B2a -- Over polished die with flat area in middle of eagle's left wing and weak feather between eagle's right wing bottom and leg. ''Die Marker --'' Horizontal polishing lines to right of wreath bow. Comments: 1. LVA notes-VAM 130C1. same reverse as VAM 130C1, different obv. than VAM 130C1, So this coin has NEW obv. die 2. Has 178 reeds of 130 C1. Not much to go for obv die marker. 2. Research shows the Die 1 progression occurred before the Die 2 marriage. The reverse of VAM 130C1 Die 1 should show almost no cracking, while the reverse of VAM 130C1 Die 2 will always have some cracking thru UNITED.
