Description
The 1873 (CC) Seated Liberty Quarter - No Arrows, struck at the Carson City Mint, is part of the Seated Liberty Quarters 1838-1891 collection. With a mintage of 4,000, this is a rare issue — the lowest mintage among 6 mint variants, representing only less than 1% of total production. The obverse features Liberty seated on a rock, holding a pole surmounted by a Phrygian liberty cap in her left hand and a shield inscribed LIBERTY in her right and the reverse displays a heraldic eagle with shield on breast, olive branch and arrows in talons, with a banner reading E PLURIBUS UNUM. The 1873-CC "No Arrows" is a great rarity. Arrows returned to indicate a weight increase. Carson City's Nevada mint, active from 1870 to 1893, produced coins from Comstock Lode metal that rank among the most sought-after in U.S. numismatics. S. numismatics. Estimated market value ranges from $7.3K to $188K depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 6.2 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge.
