The 1873 (CC) Seated Liberty Half Dollar - Arrows is a half dollar minted at the Carson City Mint, within the Seated Liberty Half Dollars 1839-1891 series. The U.S. Mint produced 214,560 examples, making this ranked 3rd of 7 mint variants by mintage, with 6% of production. The obverse features Liberty seated on a rock, holding a pole surmounted by a Phrygian liberty cap in her left hand and a shield inscribed LIBERTY in her right and the reverse displays a heraldic eagle with shield on breast, olive branch and arrows in talons, with a banner reading E PLURIBUS UNUM. Final year of the Seated Liberty Half Dollar. The 1873 "No Arrows" Carson City issue is a major rarity. The Carson City Mint operated from 1870 to 1893, striking coins from Comstock Lode silver and gold — among the most collected mintmarks in numismatics. S. numismatics.
