Description

This undated copper medal at 41mm honors Henry Price, the first Provincial Grand Master of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Massachusetts. Price was appointed by the Grand Lodge of England in 1733, establishing organized Freemasonry in Massachusetts and laying the groundwork for what would become one of the most influential Masonic jurisdictions in America. The Grand Lodge of Massachusetts has counted among its members Paul Revere, who served as Grand Master, and many other figures prominent in American history. This 41mm copper medal commemorates the foundational role of Henry Price in American Freemasonry, connecting the colonial origins of Masonic practice in America to the institutional heritage of the Massachusetts Grand Lodge. Masonic historical medals honoring founding figures carry particular significance within the fraternal collecting community.
