This brass token, cataloged as TC-608971, commemorates Wendell Willkie, the Republican presidential nominee who challenged Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1940 election. Willkie, a corporate lawyer and utilities executive from Indiana, was a charismatic dark-horse candidate who won the Republican nomination on the sixth ballot at the 1940 convention.
