Description

Trails can be seen from the tops of the letters UNITE, MERICA, the designer’s initials (LB) N of ONE and unusually on the upper incuse elements of EPU across the shield face (representing the strongest yet identified instance of trails off of incuse design elements). The off-set direction of the trail lines are 355 degrees. This die was found by Lynn Morace. DIE MAKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LMDS – Die crack behind and above the ear in the hair; cluster of small gouges SW of IN; die dot (small gouge) above the second 1 in the date. Reverse is LMDS – Die gouge to NE of the banner that says ONE CENT; die crack above the P in PLURIBUS.
