Description
Doubling shows at the top of log end #9. Partial extra log ends can be seen to the right of log ends #8 and #9. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A die crack runs NNW from the eyebrow into the forehead. Obverse Stage B: A small die gouge can be found above the Y in LIBERTY. A die scratch runs SW from the bottom of the S in TRUST. A die crack runs SSW to NNE through the hair at the back of the head. Obverse Stage C: A small die gouge can be found between the centers of the two zeros in the date. A die crack runs from SW to NE through the hair on the upper back of the head extending into the field to the left of the W in WE. The die crack running NNW from the eyebrow branches WNW near the top of the forehead. A 2nd die crack runs NNW from the eyebrow into the forehead to the left of the original die crack. A die crack runs down the nose with a small die chip near the center of the nose. A die crack runs across the bottom of the bowtie and branches south into the vest. A light die crack runs from NW to SE through the beard. Obverse Stage D: A small die chip can be found on the tip of the nose. Reverse Stage A: A die scratch runs SSW to NNE to the left of log ends #1 through #5. Reverse Stage B: A die gouge can be found to the left of the top of the 1st S in STATES. A die crack runs NE from the top right M of RM. A die crack runs SE from the bottom of the M in RM. Reverse Stage C: A small die gouge can be found above the I in UNITED. A die crack runs west from the center of the M in RM through the R to the rim. The Stage B die cracks from the M of RM are longer. A die chip can be found at the top of the M and at the top of the grass on the die crack that runs NE. A die crack runs east from the die cip at the top of the grass. A die chip can be found on the die crack running SE from the M of RM. A die crack curves SE from the bottom of the J in JL running out to the rim. A light die crack curves WNW from the lower left J of JL. Reverse Stage D: A second die chip can be found on the die crack running SE from the M in RM. A die crack curves NW from the top of the J in JL.
