Description

Moderate trail lines from the left top corners of the letters in LIBERTY. Also, slight distortion is present on the tops of O and D of GOD. Notice the distortion on the left verticals of the B and R and also the ramped extra thickness on the letters. The offset direction is 300 degrees. Even though trail lines are found on both the obverse and reverse dies, the reverse trail lines are to minor to be listed.

Die Markers

• Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted
• Reverse is MDS – Light die scratching in bays 1, 2 and 3. Light design extension apparent on UNITED.
• Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die crack with die chips in the hair of Lincoln.
• Reverse is LDS – Die scratches in bays 1, 2 and 3 are still present but they are weaker. Design extension still present on UNITED but they are starting to blend in with the metal flow lines due to the age of the die.
