Description

Doubling shows as a bar extended from the lower knee to the foot to the right of the statue on the seventh column. Die Markers: Obverse: Stage A: A die gouge can be found inside the second zero in the date. A die gouge is visible touching the upper right O in GOD. Stage B: The Stage A markers are still visible. A die gouge can be found touching the lower left side of the U of TRUST. Stage C: The Stage A and Stage B markers are still visible but weaker. A die gouge can be found on Lincoln’s cheek to the left of the bottom of the nose. Reverse: Stage A: A die gouge can be found above the statue’s head, a bit to the left side. A die gouge can be found right of the upper second A in AMERICA. A die gouge can be found under the leftmost bush on the right Memorial base on the steps. A small die gouge can be found inside the lower N in ONE. A die gouge can be found touching the left middle of the N in ONE. A die gouge can be found left of the lower C in CENT. A die gouge can be found touching the left upper N in CENT. Stage B: The Stage A markers are still visible. Two small die gouges can be found in the lower seventh Memorial bay at the level of the bottom of the feet. A horizontal die gouge can be found on the right side of the sixth Memorial column at the level of the upper leg. A die gouge can be found to the right of the lower first T of STATES. A die gouge can be found to the left of the upper E of CENT. Stage C: The Stage A and Stage B markers are still visible but weaker. The die gouge above the statue’s head and left of the lower C in CENT are extremely faint. The Stage B die gouges in the lower seventh Memorial bay are worn down to one small gouge. A horizontal die scratch can be found in the upper 3rd bay. Horizontal die scratches can be found in the upper 6th bay. A small die gouge can be found to the left of the lower T in CENT. Obverse:
