Description

this is another die that has two sets of directional trails. The first set affects the word STATES and the left part of the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. This set has an offset direction of 060 degrees. The second set of trail lines can plainly be seen from the ERIC of AMERICA the right corner of the roof and cornice and the tops of columns 11 and 12. Also seen are trail lines from the bottom of the N in CENT. This set has an offset direction of 130 degrees.

Die Markers

• Stage “A”, obverse is LEDS – none noted.
• Reverse is LEDS – a die gouge is seen below the M of AMERICA. A die scratch next to the rim is seen to the right of the designer’s initials.
