Description

Strong to moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 2, 3, 11 and 12. Strong to moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5 through 8, with an offset direction of 200 degrees. Notice the trails from the designer’s initials. Also noted are the faint trails from the letter T in CENT and the F of the designer’s initial.

Die Markers

• Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – none observed
• Reverse is EDS – start of a die chip on the left cornice edge. Die dot under the I of UNITED. Die dot above the left base tip.
• Stage “B”, obverse is EMDS – die chip in the upper loop of the B in LIBERTY.
• Reverse is EMDS – same as Stage “A”
