1998P-1DER-029T Trail Die Reverse

Description

Trail die with design extensions at an offset direction of 040 degrees. The tops of the columns and the scrolling of the cornice show moderate trails. EPU continues the design extensions with distortion showing on the tops of most of the letters. The ED STA (UNITED STATES) show the peculiar notching sometimes associated with trail dies. Design extension continues on TES OF AMER (STATES OF AMERICA) with light trails seen on the word CENT. The left URN and the statue of Lincoln both have trail lines. A secondary coin submitted  by Thomas Summers showed trails also on the FG and CENT.

• Stage “B”, Obverse is MDS – Die dot below the N of IN.
• Reverse is MDS – Two die dots in the O of ONE.
