Description

This 1973 Franklin Mint silver medal at 72mm with antique finish is the most premium version of the Nixon-Agnew second inauguration medal — combining precious metal composition, large format, and specialized finishing in a single piece. Silver at 72mm diameter represents a substantial amount of precious metal, making this both a significant numismatic collectible and a precious metal holding. The antique finish on silver creates a muted, dignified appearance quite different from bright proof surfaces. This is the top-of-the-line inauguration medal from the Franklin Mint's political series for the Nixon second term. As with all 1973 Nixon inauguration pieces, the subsequent Watergate resignation adds historical dimension to this commemorative of a presidency that appeared triumphant at the moment of its second inauguration but was already fatally compromised.

Rarity Notes

Sterling silver, 72mm, antique finish. Most premium Nixon inauguration variant. Very limited production.
