Description
Class II, Distorted Hub DoublingA nice spread toward the rim shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FIVE CENTS, MONTICELLO, the steps and the right side of the building with the spreads increasing from left to right. The strongest spread is on AMERICA. Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse is a doubled die listed as 1971-S Pr 5c WDDO-019. Reverse: Short vertical die gouge between upper halves of L and U of PLURIBUS; die gouge (dot) from upper porch roof to right of dome; vertical die scratch between lower halves of T and E of UNITED; die gouge (dot) inside lower portion of E of STATES.
