Description

Class II, Distorted Hub DoublingA spread toward the rim shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and FIVE CENTS, increasing from left to right.  A close spread shows on MONTICELLO and the right side of the building.  An extremely close spread shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM. Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse is a doubled die listed as 1971-S Pr 5c WDDO-004. Reverse: Heavy, thick, long die gouge (dent?) which looks like part of a letter or design element - very unusual - inside second U of UNUM.
