Description

Class II, Distorted Hub DoublingA strong spread toward the center shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and FIVE CENTS.  A moderate spread shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM and a very close spread shows on MONTICELLO.  All spreads are constant. Die Markers: Obverse: Die gouge (dot) between upper portions of E and R of LIBERTY. Reverse: Small die gouge inside center of C of AMERICA; short vertical die gouge to right of center of E of STATES; die gouge (dot) between upper portions of first T and A of STATES; die scratch NNE from upper portion of T of CENTS.
