1962 Medal Theodore Roosevelt .999 Fine Silver The Medal Arts Company
Strike TypeCoin Details
Description
This 1962 Theodore Roosevelt medal struck in .999 fine silver by The Medal Arts Company is a privately produced commemorative honoring the twenty-sixth president. Roosevelt's legacy of conservation, trust-busting, the Panama Canal, and the Great White Fleet makes him one of the most commemorated presidents in American medallic art. The Medal Arts Company was one of several private minting firms that produced commemorative medals for collectors and organizations during the mid-twentieth century. The .999 fine silver composition indicates a near-pure silver content, distinguishing this from sterling (.925) pieces. Roosevelt medals are perennially popular among collectors due to his outsized personality and his direct connection to American numismatic history through his commissioning of the Saint-Gaudens gold coinage.
Rarity Notes
