Description
Obverse: Die Markers: Obverse: Type I. The obverse of this variety is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1946-S 10¢ WDDO-001. A close Class II spread towards the center shows on LIBERTY. Strong die scratches run SSE from the lower back of the head. A small die gouge can be found below the right side of the B in LIBERTY. Reverse: Trumpet tail mintmark. A NNW/SSE die scratch can be found to the left of the upper D in DIME.
