Description
Obverse Stage B: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Trumpet Tail Mintmark. Multiple die scratches running N/S above and below the 9 in date. Diagonal die scratches are seen above the 1 running towards Lincoln’s chin. Die scratch to the left and under the V of VDB. Die gouge at the left lower edge of the L of TY. Long die scratch at the left upper edge of the Y of LIBERTY running north towards the back of the head. Obverse Stage B: Long die scratch at the center of the Y of LIBERTY running north towards the back of the head. Die scratch at the right edge of the E of LIBERTY runs south ending in the field below. Reverse Stage A: Die scratch from the bottom of the first U of PLURIBUS runs south towards the top of the O of ONE. Die chip to the right of the E of E.PLURIBUS. Die scratches above and to the right as well as below the second S of STATES close to the right wheat stalk. Reverse Stage B: A long die scratch shows on the right edge of the left wheat stalk running from the upper wheat ending at the lower end of the wheat stalk next to the U of UNITED.
