Description
DieMarkers: Obverse: Type I. The obverse of this stage is 1946-10¢ WDDO-015A. A strong Class V CW spread from a pivot at about 12:00 shows on the date, the designer’s initials, the bottom of the bust, the lower nose, nostril, IGWT, and LIBERTY. Long NW die scratch from the rim at 3:00 nearly to the back of the head. Series of N/S die scratches in the area of the neck and jaw where the crease forms. Die scratch at the upper nose west of the eye. SE die scratch from the back of the neck near the bust. Heavy die gouge above the U of TRUST from die polishing. Strong die scratch, south from the throat nearly to the last T of TRUST. Reverse: Die clash from the left side of the olive leaves to the stem. Die scratches NNE/SSW between the oak stem and the IM of DIME. Die scratches north from both U's of UNUM extending to both sides of the left acorn.
