Description

Obverse Stage A: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: None significant. Obverse Stage B: N/S die crack in the hair. Large die gouge between the bottoms of the 4 and 3 in the date. Reverse Stage A: A die scratch runs north from the top right of the small right window. Parallel die scratches run NE from the top of the second L in MONTICELLO. Reverse Stage B: Stage A scratches through the L abraded away. Stage A scratches above the window weak, but still present. Feeder finger scrapes above the right end of the building. Strong E/W die scratch over the left end of the building. Weak NE/SW die scratch from the E in UNITED to the top left serif of the F in FIVE.
