Description

S/S/S Tilted & Tilted Die Markers: Obverse: Die gouge well left of I in IN at the rim. A small SSW/NNE die scratch is present to the upper right of the G in GOD. Circular die scratch is present at the rim below the back of the bust and to the right of the date up to approximately two thirds the way to the second T in TRUST. A very light die clash is present at the neck. A die gouge is present in the lower jacket fold. Reverse: A light die scratch is present above right side of E in EPU to the rim. A light die scratch is present above IB in PLURIBUS parallel to the rim. A die gouge is present abutting the lower right R in AMERICA. Light die scratches run ESE through lower first A in AMERICA. A die gouge is present above left side of N in CENT.Submitted By: Keith ChristensonCross References: None known Comments: The mint mark doubling and placement is extremely similar to that seen on 1942-S 1¢ WRPM-019, however in hand comparison of the markers preclude these being the same die. Obverse: A nearly vertical die scratch can be seen between the lower T and Y in LIBERTY. Reverse: A small die gouge can be found above the AT in STATES. Obverse:
