Description

A close spread towards the center shows on UNUM and the upper right wheat. Die Markers: Obverse: A series of vertical die scratches run from the front of Lincoln’s chin towards the 1 in the date. Vertical die scratches show above the letters ERTY in LIBERTY. A series of horizontal die scratches show below WE. A diagonal die crack runs from the lower back of Lincoln’s lapel to the back of his shoulder. Reverse: Light finger feeder damage shows above the left dot in E PLURIBUS UNUM. Light finger feeder damage shows below the first U in UNUM. A short, horizontal die scratch shows above the right arm of the second U in UNUM. A diagonal die scratch shows left of the junction between the horizontal and vertical crossbars of the T in CENT. A light die crack runs through one of the upper right wheat grains. A long die crack runs through the lower outer right wheat grains. A die gouge (dot) shows below the junction of the upper right wheat stem and the lower right wheat stalk.
