Description
=1921-S VAM-29B Doubled Obverse, Reverse, Clashed Obverse I Polished Upper Rev.= Discovery 2014 Nick Capuano. This coin is a WOW! List VAM. Revised 2021. 29B (revised) IV 19 - D2p (Doubled Obverse, Reverse, Clashed Obverse I Polished Upper Rev. ) (189) Obverse IV19 - Same clashed die of incuse I of In as 29A with same die file lines at clash area. Faint clash S may show on some earlier die states. (Formerly VAM-1AG) Reverse D2p - Die file lines in various directions thru-out In God We Trust down to eagle's neck and up into TATES OF. Apparently was to reduce severity of die crack in TES OF that extends to wing tip left side and across wing tip to right edge in some cases. LVA Comments: # New VAM 29B. Formerly VAM 1AG with die file lines at 5-6 rt stars. But Earliest die state with no die cracks on obv or rev. Rev has clear double vertical clash lines to I of In. Obv has faint double clash I bottom with light vertical polishing lines at neck and rt field. No Polishing lines on rev. Faint die crack below O of OF. This is initial die state of 1AG which is same dies as 29 & almost initial clash I state which would be without polishing lines at neck - but haven't seen one yet. No clear clashed s at hair vee, but polishing lines there may have erased it. So eliminated VAM-1AG which became 29B. Thanks for pointing that out! DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments:
