=1921-S VAM-1H Die Gouge Above Wing, Chip Below Star, Polished= Discovered by John Kohut, February 2004. 1H (revised 2007) IV 1 D2a (Die Gouge Above Wing, Chip Below Star, Polished) (189) Obverse IV 1 - Small die chip below third left star. Extensive die file lines in fields which are mostly worn away in later die stages. Reverse D2a - Wide die gouge from eagle's right wing at top up thru ST of STATES to rim with several short gouges at denticles to left of S. Wide die gouge from top of eagle's wing up to rim. Likely caused by faulty feed fingers in press. Light polishing lines in fields. Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle's right leg. ''Die marker'' - Three vertical polishing lines at top of middle of right bow ribbon. Eagle's left wing very over polished with vertical die file lines in flat areas.
