=1921-P VAM-49A Doubled AMERICA, Pitted Die 3rd Right Star, Scribbling Die Scratches #55= Discovered by Bill Van Note, January 2005. Former VAM-3AO & 3CT Renumbered from VAM 49, April 2025 Revised 2017 49A (revised) IV 1 D2i (Doubled AMERICA, Pitted Die 3rd Right Star, Scribbling Die Scratches #55) (189) Obverse IV 1 - Pitted die from some rust spots on left side and above 3rd right star. (Formerly VAM-3AO) Reverse D2i - Slight doubling towards rim on AR, right star, AMERICA, tip of eagle's left wing and edge of outer leaves of right wreath top. Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle's right leg, between eagle's left wing and body and in middle of eagle's both wings. ''Die marker'' - Short vertical die scratch at top of lowest inner feather of eagle's right wing. (Formerly VAM-3AO & 3CT prior) DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Yes, photo of 49 with wreath "leaf gouge" above last A in AMERICA is part of the leaf design.
