IV 1 · D2a (Scribbling Die Scratches #132, Die Gouges O) (189) Obverse IV 1– Reverse D2a– Wide diagonal die gouge thru middle and top right of O in OF, tiny gouges at top left inside of M in AMERICA and right outside of upper loop of R in DOLLAR (Not on many examples). DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: Originally designated by LVA as VAM 3AP, before an earlier die state coin without the gouges in O of OF and M of AMERICA was discovered.
