Description

1921-P VAM-41A Pitted Lower Reverse revision, October 12, 2009 by Brian Raines This coin is a Top 100 Morgan VAM. '''41A IV 24 · D1a (Tripled Left Stars, Pitted Lower Reverse) (189)''' '''Reverse D1a–''' Raised dots in tail feathers, arrow feathers, around wreath bow and left side leaves from rusted die. No polishing lines on lower reverse. (Formerly VAM-1A) '''DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: '''Comments: # EDS doesn’t show pitting around E DOL or polishing lines & is now new [[1921-P VAM-41. The former VAM-1A is now VAM-41A and the die state w/ many fine lines is now [[1921-P VAM-41B. A few VAMmers that are fans of the 21-P VAM-41 series insist that the 41A (major pitting with no polishing lines) is much scarcer than the 41B (heavy polishing lines). # Be sure to check [[1921-P VAM-1E and [[1921-P VAM-3E as they also have pitting around the wreath bow like 1921-P VAM-41. # VAMworld has a 1921-P Pitted Reverse Attribution guide here.
