1921-P VAM-3E Pitting Below Arrow Feathers Discovered by Bill Fivaz, August 1979. Revised 2009. This coin is a Hot 50 Morgan VAM. Fine raised dots from pitted die around lower tail feathers,between LA, R in DOLLAR, right star, C in America and at eagle's beak. Progressive stages of pitting starting at R. '''Comments'':''' LVA Plate Photos Additional Photos Pitting in and below the arrow feathers: This die changed signficantly over the production run.The difference between the EDS pitting (Below) and the LDS pitting (top). Pitting around the arrows and tailfeathers are not even there for the EDS coin, This VAM is also a scribbling scratches variety. This photo is from an EDS|early die state of the VAM-3E without much of the pitting present.
