Description
=1921-D VAM-7 Doubled Left Stars and UNITED STATES= Discovered by Jack Lee, August 2000. Desirability: image:star1.gif 7(revised) IV 6 · D2e (Doubled Left Stars and UNITED STATES) (189) Obverse IV 6– All left stars doubled towards rim. Lower edge of top crossbar of both 1's in date and first two right stars towards rim. Reverse D2e– Slightly doubled left star and UNITED STATES at top inside and bottom outside towards coin center. Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle's right leg and between eagle's left wing and body. ''Die marker'' - Two double polishing lines in middle of eagle's left wing. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # The VAM-7A variety has a slightly doubled lower right inside ear. Additionally, all of the left stars are doubled toward rim as is the lower edge of top crossbar of both 1s in the date and the first two right stars. When a small break emerges from the eagle's wing on the reverse, the coin is a 1921-D VAM-7A.
