=1921-D VAM-1DU Scribbling Die Scratches #55= Discovered by Leroy Van Allen 1DU IV1 - D2a (Scribbling Die Scratches #55) (189) Reverse D2a- Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle’s right leg and between eagle’s left wing and body. ''Die marker-'' Vertical die scratch on right tail feather above arrow shafts. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Note: There was some question if the VAM-1DU is stage of 1921-D VAM-5A, but examination of a late die state example of VAM-1DU shows distinct die breaks. (thus, they are not of the same dies.)
