=1921-D VAM-1CL Scribbling Die Scratches # 13= 1CL IV 1 - D2a (Scribbling Die Scratches # 13) (189) Obverse IV 1 - Some left and right stars slightly doubled Reverse D2a – Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle's right leg & some faint lines on the lower feathers between eagle’s left wing & body. ''Die marker'' – Slanted die scratch on lower feather of eagle’s right wing. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Some LDS examples of the VAM 1CL exhibit rather distinctive cracks, including a crack very similar to the D break in the VAM 1N Unicorn D. Two examples of coins with these cracks were submitted to Leroy Van Allen in July, 2008 by cmerlo and raybob15239. Leroy's response was that the D crack needed to have a bigger break out into the field to list and the S crack was just too thin. This die crack was originally known as JOH-24.
